HOW TO FIND IP ADDRESS OF A PC?

IP address is nothing but the Internet Protocol, Which means the rules or method for Transmission of data on the Internet. Every PC will have its own IP address which is unique. IP address is a numerical label for each device.

       

Up to my knowledge IP Address of an Windows Operating system can be find by 4 ways. IP address can be identified in two ways based on the type of IP address required to find.....

1. Finding Internal IP:

A) BY USING COMMAND PROMPT:

In this method we find the IP address of the particular system by the following steps ....             

1. First go to the START menu in the Task bar of the screen window ,
2. Then type  "cmd" command in the search bar and press ENTER button, which opens the Command prompt of the system,
3. In the command prompt after the command " C:\Users\user name> " type the command "ipconfig" and then press Enter. 

This displays a set of details about the system and connection information including the IP address of that particular system.......

 

The IP address is preceded by the statement IPv4 address , which means the Local IP address which is of the form... 

B) BY THE NETWORK AND SHARING CENTER:

The steps to find Internal IP address is ........

1. Go to "Network and Sharing Center" of the system in the Task bar and then press "Local Area Connection" near the Connections option.
2. Then "Local Area Connection Status" window gets open, in which we click the "Details" button.
3. This Displays the "Network Connection Details" which consists of the connection details of the internet.

The Internal IP address of the system is situated next to the "IPv4 address" which is of the form 4 set of digits. 

2. Finding External IP:

A) FROM ROUTERS CONFIGURATION PAGE:

1. Open any one web Browser in your system and enter the Routers IP address in to the web browser in the search.
2. Then check the documentation section of the browser for the required address which is named as IP address.

 

Usually the IP addresses of the router will be among the following........
192.168.0.1

192.168.1.1

192.168.2.1   

B) BY GOOGLE:

By using google.com one can find the external IP address of the system. the process of finding that is very simple and easy.

1. Go to www.google.com, google search engine gets open there
2. There in the search bar of Google type like "IP Address" or "my IP" or "whats my IP" or "what is my IP address" and simply press enter for the searching .....
3. It simply displays the external IP address of that system in the format.. 

"Your public IP address is xxx.xxx.xx.xxx" 

C) BY OTHER WEBSITES:

One can find his /her systems IP address by some of the other websites. here there is no need to follow procedures for finding the IP address.

The way of finding is just by simply entering into that site displays the IP address of the respected system. There are many sited which provide their services to find IP address some of them are......

These are some of the techniques and methods that are efficient and known to me to know the IP address of a system.
